Why does Aura MD only take a limited number of insurance plans?
As a patient, you likely realize medicine continues to experience oversight by bureaucracies with insurance coverage.
Treatment decisions are influenced by arbitrary guidelines enforced by insurance reviewers who often do not have an understanding of patient-centered care. Any insurance leaves a trail of information through several layers of a health network.
Insurance companies can require detailed information about a patient’s psychiatric and medical history as a condition of payment. This may extend to requesting information regarding progress of medication treatment, a potential breach of the traditional private and confidential relationship between patient and physician.
One method to circumvent this process is to see a physician that is not contracted with your insurance company.
We realize the challenges with increasing cost of health care to patients, however do not deem healthcare decisions appropriate to be determined by insurance screeners. Therefore, Aura MD participates in only a few select provider contracts.
Safety and confidentiality are crucial for successful treatment- principles we never compromise.
Our office is straightforward, accommodating and designed to allow our time to be spent with patients.
These are just a few thoughts to keep in mind when initiating care with our practice and understand the true value of the principles we align our practice with- quality healthcare that is individualized for you!
As the highest rated psychiatrist office in Houston, we look forward with providing you an extraordinary experience and a renewed approach to managing your health.
